Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field of study.
  • Automotive Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies, Process, PLC, and ISO.
  • CNC Programming: Knowledge of CNC programming in close tolerance applications and PLC nomenclature and programming.
Position Summary:
As a Process Engineer, you will be a key player in planning, organizing, and directing engineering functions to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. This is a role that requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic thinking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and revise assembly processes encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
  • Manage new launches and continuous improvement projects, ensuring excellence in execution.
  • Coordinate training activities for employees affected by engineering projects.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and timing, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Track and monitor processes, including but not limited to cycle times, scrap performance, efficiency, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Oversee key projects, processes, and performance reports, utilizing problem-solving tools for analysis.
  • Research and suggest design concepts and fundamental technology for new products or improvements.
  • Review and analyze proposals submitted to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality, reviewing and monitoring quality and process improvements.
  • Record test data, apply statistical quality control procedures, and evaluate data for reporting.
  • Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data and maintain laboratory test equipment.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as required.
Position Qualifications:
  • Ability to facilitate small group discussions, lead meetings, training, and projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, capital budgeting, and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Capital procurement experience and functional knowledge of CNC programming in close tolerance applications and PLC nomenclature and programming.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, gauging, close tolerance measurement, maintenance systems, and equipment PM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system problems and analyze statistical data.
  • Special equipment knowledge (i.e., CBN grinding, tool regrinding, chip handling, systems, filtration, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO-14001 requirements and FMEA procedure and development.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems, with mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Part drawing interpretation, verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, good interpersonal skills, and a safety-oriented mindset.
  • Ergonomics knowledge, physical ability to access equipment, and ability to work in a plant environment.
  • Technical aptitude, demonstrated by the ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
  • Ability to work under pressure, receptive to training, and perform functions in multiple areas.
  • Participate in a teamwork atmosphere and contribute to various continuous improvement projects and processes.
  • Ability to perform at required production standards, record and interpret data, and compute and compile necessary data for reporting and presentations.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and policies.
  • Computer skills - Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and ability to operate computerized equipment. (Excel is a plus)
  • Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, and develop conclusions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field of study required.
  • Entry-level up to 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably the automotive industry.
  • Recent college graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Computer Skills:
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment is required. Working knowledge of PC applications is necessary.
Certificates & Licenses:
  • Certificates or diplomas from an accredited college or skill center in machining or machine tool manufacturing highly desired.
